GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING – March 21, 2017

Meeting opened at 7:35pm at the HVFD

General Discussion/Business:

 

  • Erik Allen steps down as President.

  • Andre Jones nominated and steps up as President.

  • Sean Queen nominated and steps in as Vice President.

  • Lacrosse uniforms expected to arrive Friday, March 24th.

  • Lacrosse games begin March 25th.  Schedules on SMYLA and HYC website.

  • SMYLA Tournament May 20th (Chesapeake & U7) and May 21st (Potomac & U9).

  • SMYLA Tournament T-Shirt orders & money due by April 10th. Tara Grim to handle shirt orders.

  • Butter Braid Fundraiser for lacrosse, organized by Sylvia Luckett.

  • U13/U15 to possibly participate in Summer Tournaments.

  • Football registration opens April 1st.

  • Cheer registration opens April 1st.

  • Football League Meeting—Voted/Decided on Unlimited for fall 2017.  Teams based on age, not weight.

  • All football players must have a Maryland State issued ID to play.  Players will not be permitted to play without a MD ID present on game days, no exceptions.

  • Dan’l Pierce working on football/cheer flyer to distribute to local schools for registration.

  • Tara Grim to distribute flyers to schools in April.

  • Offer $10 early bird discount for registrations prior to May 15th. 

  • Offer free tee-shirts for registrations before May 15th.

  • Flag Football registration fee is waived for 2017 (participants pay for jersey only).

  • Northern Football Camp – email flyer, also post on website and Facebook.

  • Old cheer mats have been tossed.  New mats to be ordered prior to the season.  Need to arrange for storage.

  • Discussed selling Homecoming T-shirts for possible fundraiser in the fall.

  • Shawn Powell has volunteered to be our “Fundraiser Coordinator”.

  • Meeting adjourned at 9:00pm
